Questions, answered
Can it read paid, subscriber-only Substack posts?
Yes — and this is the part most tools skip. Substack emails you the full paid post the moment it publishes. You forward that email (or subscribe with your QuokkaReads address) and the complete article lands on your Kindle. We never need your Substack password.
How is this different from Amazon’s free Send to Kindle?
Amazon’s tool is manual, one article at a time, and chokes on newsletter emails. QuokkaReads is automatic: new posts arrive on your Kindle on their own, paywalled posts included, optionally bundled into a clean daily or weekly digest.
Which e-readers work?
Kindle (any model) via your @kindle.com address. The same clean EPUB also works on Kobo, reMarkable, and Boox — or just download it.
Wait — what’s an EPUB?
It’s the standard e-book format — think of it as the .mp3 of reading. Unlike a PDF, the text reflows to fit any screen, so you can resize the font and read comfortably on e-ink. Your Kindle supports it natively, so a converted post reads like a real book.
Do I have to install anything?
No. You get a personal QuokkaReads email address. Forward newsletters to it, or set a one-time auto-forward rule, and you’re done.
What does it cost?
Free for 3 articles a month. Unlimited automation, paywalled subscriptions, digests, and multi-device delivery are $9.99/mo (or $60/yr).
